Please Come to Our next blood drive will take place on Thursday, March 19th 2009, between the hour of 2:30 PM and 8:00 PM at the Locust Valley Fire House on Buckram Rd. You must be between the age of 16 (with parent consent) and 76 years of age, in good health and weigh at least 110 pounds.  Bring “I D” with you and know your Soc. Sec. #.   The Locust Valley Community Blood Drive, is sponsored by the Locust Valley Rotary Club and the Locust Valley Fire Department, twice a year in March and August.

Attention all blood donors but especially donors in blood types O negative, A negative and B negative and O positive Along with units of whole blood we will be collecting Red Cell Apheresis. This process separates the Red Blood Cells from your donation while returning the other components of blood back to you this is also know as the ALEX system. Red Blood Cells are the most commonly required blood component and their need is growing. Red Blood Cells carry oxygen to all tissues of the body.  They are most needed in anemic patients, transplant patients, heart surgery patients or accident and trauma patients.
